We are on our 4th day of Steampunk tangling and the artwork is popping up everywhere.
Today I will cover materials – such as brickwork, metal plates, leather, and wood.
Tricia Long posted her beautiful tile before I even had a chance to start on the different materials. Below you find instructions on how to create a diamond metal plate background. You could outline the shape with a light grey marker. Pencil works just as fine though.
Timber is very popular in steampunk too!
And here I show you how to draw a leather belt.
Metal Plating – yes, it looks just too easy to create a step-out for it, I know … However, this place also provides inspiration. Browsing through the sections you pick up ideas. And that’s why I created this pattern card.
Today I have a task for you! Here is a string with a bear. You can trace this template onto a piece of paper or draw your own bear. The task is to “metal plate” a bear and turn him into a steampunk toy! Use all you have learned so far. Gears, screws, hinges!
And YES – a TEDDY BEAR ! ..haha..
Looking forward to your creations! See you for Part 5 tomorrow!
