CPT Technique: Weaving

Weaving Technique

When overlapping ribbons or other shapes we refer to it as the Weaving Technique.

CPT Technique Weaving

Especially Celtic knots use this technique extensively.

The simplest way for beginners is to draw the knot or weaves in pencil first. Determine which parts are visible and which parts are underneath. Erase the pencil lines where the underlying part shouldn’t be drawn. Trace with marker.

Celtic Knot

  1. Draw the shapes in pencil
  2. No need to worry about what is going to be on top and what is on the bottom
  3. Draw an aura all around the shapes
  4. Erase all lines that are not necessary
  5. Trace the pencil lines with a marker
