Advanced Grid Journey – Part 2

Welcome back to the Advanced Grid Journey!

Whenever I get involved in the Grid Journey, I dive so deep into the zone that I forget time for hours. There are so many things I want to show you, I don’t even know where to begin!

So today we will dive deeper into the hexagonal grid. This Hex Grid is a base pattern and can be filled in many ways. We covered that in the original Grid Journey already.

This weeks Template #11 is just perfect to add a hex grid! And here I show you exactly how to do that. Click the image for a full-size view.

How to divide a Template into a hex grid

The hexagonal grid can be divided further; which of course allows us to produce even more patterns.

Hex Triangle Grid Base Pattern

Just like patterns based on a square grid, hex grid patterns can be rotated. A good example is HexFold:

Without rotating the hexagonal block:

And here is the same pattern after flipping the block:

And here is one more example where I changed the straight lines with C-Shapes:

During the course of the week, I will add more patterns based on the hexagonal grid. Why not try to apply various CPT techniques to the hex grid patterns before filling this weeks template? I can assure you that it is a lot of fun!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!  🙂
