Author Focus – Sandy Hunter

This weeks Author Focus features Sandy Hunter from Texas, USA.

My name is Sandy Hunter, and I’ve been a certified Zentangle® teacher since February of 2012.

I was a cookie decorator for fourteen years, but then the economy tanked and after a very long, hard battle, the shop was forced to close its doors for good. I spent several months after that with the sinking feeling that I might never find my place in this world, because the job listings I was seeing out there didn’t suit my talents or abilities at all.

Husband, mother, friend- the three most important people in my life all had a hand in my introduction to Zentangle®. First, my amazing husband, whose unfailing support and encouragement gave me the courage to try making it into a career. Second, my mom, who encouraged me to ‘like’ the Facebook page of a friend with an art studio, so I could see her upcoming class list (where I discovered the Zentangle® class I took with Sandhya). Third, My former boss and friend, Linda, who learned about Zentangle® from a fellow quilter and first introduced me to it. And finally, Rick and Maria, for creating the whole concept in the first place. They’re wonderful people, and I have found the whole CZT community to be very welcoming and encouraging.”

You can find me on Facebook under  Tanglebucket Studio or visit my blog.

Sandy has been designing many well-known patterns. For the author focus we will be exploring one by one, beginning with my all-time favorite: Akoya

Akoya by Sandy Hunter

Sandy has written detailed instructions on her blog making it easy to master this pattern.

During the course of the week we will explore many more of Sandy’s patterns!
